Mondial Roses24 April 2023Mondial- my Favourite Rose The Mondial rose originates form a German Nursery, but the name comes from the French for ‘Peace’. It is now grown all over the world. But Mondials for floristry are mainly grown in Holland and Ecuador. The Rose belongs to the large headed variety which can be up to 10cm in diameter when open, with up to 30 petals making up the bloom. The petals themself have a graceful wavy edge. All this is reminiscent of an old English garden rose. The cut flower rose has no scent but lasts very well and with little or no thorns makes it a delight to use in floristry. For floristry the Mondial rose comes in two colours, White and Pink The White rose has a slight green edging and is more creamy in colour on the outside, with the centre petals having a touch of peachiness to them. The Pink Rose is pastel in colour, with the outer petals having a touch of light green around the top edge. From a florist point of view, the Mondial is a wonderful rose to work with and makes a great feature flower in bouquets, as well as being the star in any Wedding bouquet and arrangement .
